Do you think you have what it takes to get into heaven? Answer these questions to find out!
Question 1: What seat do you normally take in the church sanctuary?
- The best seat in the house, front and center—I got to the church an hour early to secure it.
- The seat closest to the exit—last one in, first one out.
- Whichever seat is next to a newcomer to the church—want to make them feel welcome!
- I sit wherever my friends or family tell me to sit.
Question 2: Uh oh! The pastor's sermon is running long. What is your response?
- Relief! I need the extra time to figure out the answer to the bullet point in the sermon notes that I missed.
- All smiles and nods on the outside... but on the inside, I'm FUMING.
- With every extra minute, I make a show out of checking my watch and giving the pastor a pointed stare.
- Oh, I haven't even noticed because I fell asleep ten minutes into the sermon.
Question 3: Someone just cut you off on the freeway. What do you do?
- Shake it off. After all, I cut off the car behind me.
- Smile and wave at them while reciting Romans 12:19.
- Grumble to myself about all the lousy drivers out on the road.
- It depends on whether there are other people in the car with me.
Question 4: Your neighbor's daughter is fundraising for camp this summer. Do you donate?
- Of course!
- Nope. Unless there are Girl Scout cookies involved, I'm not interested.
- Yes, but only because she's at my doorstep and I feel too awkward saying "No."
- No, but I offer to post flyers around the neighborhood as a consolation.
Question 5: A friend of yours tripped on his shoelace and took a big tumble. How do you react?
- Make sure he's okay and move on as if it didn't happen—I don't want to embarrass him.
- Make sure he's okay and then start laughing.
- Shout for someone to call an ambulance and immediately ask him how many fingers I'm holding up.
- Post a video of the whole thing on Facebook.

Question 6: Your work is throwing a birthday luncheon. What's your contribution?
- I bring a casserole—enough of it to feed the five thousand.
- I coordinate a thoughtful gift from the whole department.
- I sign the birthday card (after asking a coworker whose birthday we're celebrating).
- I show up. Isn't that enough?
Question 7: It's your day off, and a friend asks you to help her move. Do you help her?
- Absolutely. There will be other days off.
- Yes, but I'm expecting a free lunch in return.
- Yes, but I "accidentally" show up late, after most of the work has been done.
- No, I tell her I have other plans. She doesn't need to know those "plans" are to do nothing.
Question 8: It's Sunday, and you're out of town on vacation. Do you still go to church?
- Yes, I looked up a church in the area and went there.
- Yes, I watched my home church's online service.
- Well, I planned to go, but I ended up sleeping until noon.
- Does it count if I said I was there "in spirit"?
Question 9: Do you volunteer regularly at your church?
- Yes, every week I try to help in some capacity.
- Sure! I volunteer once a year. I'd call that volunteering "regularly."
- No, but I put some extra money in the offering plate, so I'm covered.
- I just don't feel like the Lord has called me to volunteer yet.
Question 10: Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?
- Yes!
- No.
The first nine questions were posed in good fun, but when it comes to knowing whether you will go to heaven, the last question is the only question that really matters.
John 3:16 states that "whoever believes in [Jesus] should not perish but have everlasting life" (emphasis added). When we believe in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior, He secures our future in heaven once and for all. Not a single sin we commit—no matter how big or small—can keep us from spending eternity with Him.
Likewise, we cannot earn our way to heaven with good deeds. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9, NIV, emphasis added).
If your answer to question #10 was "No," then we want to encourage you with two promises:
-
God loves you and wants you to be in heaven with Him.
- Your invitation to heaven is already here. All you have to do is accept the invitation by trusting Christ as your Savior.
